Polycom Announces Updated Line of VVX Series Phones

Posted by Annelise Fasnacht on Jun 15, 2018 10:49:00 AM

In addition to their trailblazing work in the realm of video conferencing and collaboration, Polycom has long been a leader in the world of audio technology. From Microsoft phones to multimedia hubs, Polycom has audio solutions for spaces of all sizes and purposes.

Companies looking for reliable desk phones need look no further than Polycom’s VVX series, a consistent line of high-fidelity phones that offers top notch audio and intuitive, user-friendly interfaces.

While it might seem like tech innovation in the conferencing and collaboration industry is limited to video at this point, Polycom isn’t leaving audio behind. Intent as ever on bringing the best audio to as many desks and tables as possible, the company has just announced an updated line of VVX series phones.

The newly minted Polycom VVX x50 Series will include VVX 150, VVX 250, VVX 350 and VVX 450 Business IP phones. All four models will feature Polycom’s peerless audio quality, along with color LCD screens and USB ports. Every phone in the series will also feature Polycom HD Voice and Polycom Acoustic Fence, the combination of which ensures crystalline audio unmarred by outside noises.

“Based on great feedback from our service provider partners and end customers, Polycom developed the new VVX x50 Series with quality, value, and management in mind,” said Tarun Loomba, executive vice president, Product and Solutions Management at Plantronics. “The new, sleek design delivers a great customer experience with premier audio quality at the right price for partners and customers.”

Don’t mistake the VVX x50 Series for just another phone. With the announcement of Polycom’s new phones came word that Polycom will begin certifying service providers for their new cloud service, Polycom Device Management Service for Service Providers (PDMS-SP). This cloud service allows service providers to simplify audio device management by using Polycom’s cloud service to monitor all audio devices in the organization.

So we might be talking about phones here, but we’re still in 2018. Trust that Polycom knows what a phone should be and do in the present. And odds are pretty good they know what a phone of the future is going to look like, especially since being acquired by Plantronics earlier this summer. The combination of Plantronics’ forward-thinking wearable audio technology and Polycom’s innovative communication solutions is sure to yield exciting new breakthroughs.

“Both Plantronics and Polycom have led the way in designing collaboration technology that people actually want to use, from wearables that fit in with our individual personal style to sleek conference phones that fit in with our modern workplaces,” said Plantronics CEO Joe Burton. “This technology lives in our personal space, directly on our bodies or right next to us at our desk or conference table. With our two companies combined, we can deliver communication and collaboration experiences for every environment, workspace, and worker.”
