Material Tracking & Warehouse Assistant

 

Job Summary: Solutionz is seeking an experienced equipment logistics coordinator and warehouse assistant. This position will be responsible for working with the project team to identify equipment delivery status, after it has been ordered, and coordinate delivery to meet project schedules.

This position assists the warehouse manager in receiving, storing, and distributing materials within the warehouse and to the customers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. Throughout the week, this position will require the ideal candidate to carefully balance the workload between tracking the delivery of product from manufacturers and hands on warehouse activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Closely work with vendors and suppliers to proactively obtain real-time tracking and lead times on equipment and systematically keeping the project teams updated on the availability of product for projects.
  • Work closely with project team to identify current project needs and identify any issues that might affect the schedules of these projects.
  • Work closely with Sales and Project Management on all critical orders needing tracking information.
  • Update all information into Netsuite as closet to real-time as possible.
  • Assist in unloading trucks, record amounts of materials or items received or distributed, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
  • Assist in loading material into company vehicles.
  • Complete warehouse duties when not doing tracking related job duties. Duties assigned by warehouse manager.

Essential Functions - As Needed, Upon Requested Beyond Primary Essential Functions

  • Proactively contact suppliers for updates. Finding alternative products that might be available sooner.
  • Proactively communicate equipment status and challenges to PM and Sales teams early and often.
  • Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
  • Pulling customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Participates in physical inventory count to verify stock and identify any losses.
  • Prepare parcels for shipping. Weigh and count items to ensure accuracy of shipments.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Complete transfer sheets to move supplies from other departments.
  • Back-up for receiving material into company computer system and creating product labels to put on incoming products.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment

This position will require pivoting back and forth between administrative office duties and warehouse responsibilities. This will mean that the days will be varied between physical activities and administrative actions.

Physical Demands

The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, type, walk, and speak on the phone. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with hours being regular 8-5 or 7-4.

Required Education and Experience
  • Prior warehouse work experience (minimum of 1 year)
  • Delivery driving experience (1-2 years minimum), does not require a CDL.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean drivers record
  • Forklift Experience is preferred
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
