Field Service Engineer

Job Summary: Responsible for daily activities of Service and Support to our existing internal and external customers by conducting on-site service repairs on integrated audio-visual systems.  Works with Service Coordinators, Service Technicians, and may receive directions from Lead Technicians or Service Engineers. This position reports to the Manager of Field Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to support AV systems.
  • Provide support to other service technicians remotely by phone, Teams, or Splashtop when needed. 
  • Ability to Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to the following types of equipment and/or systems: 
    • Video Teleconferencing equipment and UC systems (i.e., Poly, Logitech, Cisco, NEAT, etc.). 
    • IP based AV networks. 
    • Audio DSP based systems to include Amplifiers, Speakers, and microphones. 
    • Projection display devices and systems (i.e., Panasonic, Sony, Epson, Draper, Da-Lite, etc.). 
    • Video wall equipment and systems (i.e., Nanolumen, Christie, Planar, etc.). 
    • Digital Signage equipment and systems. 
    • Custom Control systems: Crestron / AMX. 
  • To a lesser degree: RF Systems (analog and digital). 
  • Ability to conduct site surveys related to service quotes. 
  • Preventative maintenance of complex AV deployments. 
  • Complete daily end of day reports and time tracking. 
  • Maintains reports and submits to Lead Technicians and Project Managers. 
  • Provide technical support and FE commissioning services for new installations when needed. 
  • Helps in the installation process of new and advanced technologies by understanding the requirements specified by the research team. 
  • Carries out research to troubleshoot a problem and works with the team to develop a solution. 
  • Promptly reply to all email and voicemail communications, including outside of standard work hours when required. 
  • Complete timecards and field end-of-day reports daily, if assigned. 


Requirements 

  • Field role with traveling to various client worksites by vehicle, plane, train, etc. Includes local work and some overnight travel. 
  • Complete Solutionz Academy training requirements and relevant certifications.  
  • Ability to work from a ladder. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Exhibit teamwork and respect for coworkers, clients, vendors, and all other project staff. 
  • Valid driver’s license.
