Field Technician II

Goals and Outcomes: Responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting Audio/Video/Control systems and related equipment while mentoring/training Field Technician I.

Essential Functions

  • Attend the Installation Turnover meeting with the Project Manager to understand all related
    information, schedules, and documentation.
  • Verify all the drawings, code, site pictures, and job descriptions are complete and that access to them
    has been granted
  • Assemble and test equipment racks per the rack build schedule.
  • Ensure the equipment is programmed, configured, and tested prior to onsite installation.
  • Make certain all cables, connectors, hardware, and tools needed to complete the project are available
    and collected.

  • Maintain a clean and organized van with appropriate tools, ladders, and safety equipment.
  • Inventory and deliver all equipment to the job site.
  • Verify working times and access to the workspace.
  • Installation of all AV equipment per Solutionz documentation and industry standards for a fully
    functional system, while adhering to local low-voltage and National Electrical Code.
  • Perform minor DSP changes and load control code, as necessary.
  • Submit an EOD report in Teams at the end of each day.
  • Ensure that all equipment is connected per the drawings.
  • If the drawings are incorrect for functionality, mark the necessary changes accordingly.
  • Ensure that every wire is labeled and matches the drawings.
  • Ensure that the job site and office work area remain clean and free of trash and debris.
  • Assist with system commissioning, testing, and final punch-out.
  • Ensure that all drawings are correct and submit redlined drawing set over to the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Complete Solutionz Academy and all required certifications for Field Technician Level II
  • Advanced understanding of structural mounting
  • Advanced IP Networking Knowledge
  • Advanced AV system troubleshooting skills
  • Setup and connection of VTC units (Cisco, Lifesize, Polycom, etc..)
  • Setup and load code into Control Systems, Crestron, AMX, Extron, etc…)
  • Setup and load code into DSP (BSS, Biamp, ClearOne, etc…)
  • Terminate Fiber
  • Install and configure interactive displays (SMART, Planar, etc…)
  • After-hours and/or travel may be required.
  • Proficiency with hand tools
  • Ability to work from a ladder
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Scissor Lift Certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exhibit good teamwork
  • Respect coworkers, clients, vendors, and all other project staff
  • Take responsibility for all actions and activities
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
