Design Engineer 

Job Summary:  Responsible for the transportation, on-site installation, configuration, customer service and troubleshooting of A/V equipment, computers, software and related peripherals. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Installs and integrates professional audio-visual systems by applying knowledge and understanding of signal & cable types, terminations, network, rack fabrication, projector & screen mounting, video & audio conferencing in addition to schedule and cost management.
  • Responsible for low-voltage termination of cabling (including soldering, crimping and tails)
  • Responsible for general installation tasks including use of powered hand tools, cable pulling, heavy lifting and onsite material management
  • Responsible for performing site visits to determine structural and aesthetic site requirements
  • Tests commissioned systems to ensure company standards are met
  • Works with the Engineer to verify accuracy of as-built drawings and code changes to integrated systems

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in installing complex Audio-Visual Systems
  • Installation experience with Extron and Crestron
  • 1-2 years installation experience with Video Conferencing manufacturers Polycom, Tandberg, Lifesize, etc.
  • Infrastructure knowledge and installation experience: Projection Screens, Display Mounts, Ceiling Speakers, Wired Microphones, and Equipment Racks
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • The ability to interpret technical issues through the non-technical descriptions provided by customers
