POLYCOM GRANTED SECURITY CERTIFICATION (JITC) FROM THE U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
The U.S. Department of Defense recently awarded Polycom with the Unified Capabilities Approved Product List (UC APL) certification for the Polycom RMX 2000. This certification joins existing UC APL certifications for other Polycom products, including the Polycom HDX personal and room telepresence devices, which allows government customers to link audio and video conferencing with telepresence across secure networks to sustain a broad variety of mission critical duties.
Polycom is devoted to providing integrative video, data, and voice solutions that meet the strict interoperability and security requirements of the U.S. government. Their Security Center is aligned with the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) and is dedicated to obtaining Information Assurance (IA) and Interoperability (IO) certification on their products to assure that the Agency Systems, Services, and Combatant Commander can interoperate in a combined, joint, and coalition atmosphere to stand behind global net-centric war fighting abilities.
Use of integrated communication devices in the public increases continually, due to its capacity to streamline multiple business workflow and processes, leading to increased effectiveness and productivity, and also expanded service capabilities. Arranging real-time integration in operations of defense allows:
- Expansion control and command capabilities
- Improvement of interagency collaboration and information sharing
- Sustaining continuity and telework of operations
- Increased efficiency of crucial operations
- Support of the war-fighter with improved training and learning programs
- Facilitating advanced and extensive telemedicine operations including tele-psychiatry, tele-radiology, tele-psychiatry, tele-dermatology, and tele-surgery
The Polycom RMX 2000 runs on a standards-based, open structure to provide connectivity and interoperability no matter the network type (H.323/SIP, PSTN, ISDN) and delivers flexibility for HD telepresence, and also legacy video systems. The Polycom RMX 2000 also supports the collaboration of video and real-time voice into unified platforms from Polycom Open Collaboration Network partners.
The Polycom RMX 2000 features unique abilities that assist government agencies, including Polycom Video Clarity™, which improves non-HD video streams, and also Polycom Lost Packet Recovery™, which shields conference quality, allowing users with legacy endpoint devices and limited bandwidth abilities to receive a higher quality experience. It is the only platform to hold up to 800 audio calls and 160 video on one frame without cascading, which allows agencies to maximize their investments, conserve on energy consumption and merge infrastructure while also simplifying management and reducing costs.
