A:  Yes, this is very possible. Polycom has a software license for PC's called the Polycom PVX. Basically, it is a software package that when downloaded on a computer and integrated with a webcam, speakers, and a microphone, will allow the home office user to dial in, providing you have the multipoint software installed on the HDX units.

A: The MGC connection information tab does not specifically indicate that a connection to an endpoint is in high definition. If the endpoint is in high definition, the Connection Info 1 tab of a connected MGC participant will show an algorithm of "H.264" and a resolution of "Unknown" after selecting the Video In or Video Out row and expanding the Channel Info view.

A: You can assign an IP password on the codec that will prevent anyone from logging into the codec over the web page, telenet, and ftp session. To implement the IP password on the codec, either telnet or connect directly (by using a DB9 - DB9 straight through cable to Data Port 1 of the codec) to the codec and type ippassword where the password is you would like to assign. You can also assign a password through the security menu of the user interface or through the web interface of the system. To remove the password, you can either connect to it locally or you can remove it in the menu system. If you forget your IP Password, you have to connect to the codec directly using a RS232 cable. To clear the password type "ippassword".
